Description

Quick and easy grain-free hamburger bun recipe. Perfect vessel for burgers, sliders, or sandwiches!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tbsp. walnut flour (I used Nature’s Eats brand)
  • 1/2 tbsp. coconut flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp hot water
  • 1/2 tsp. coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp. liquid egg whites

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the walnut flour, coconut flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Heat up the water and coconut oil in a small dish (about 35 seconds in the microwave).
  3. Pour the water/coconut oil mixture into the dry ingredients and add in egg whites.
  4. Stir until well combined.
  5. Place in microwave and cook on high for about 1 minute.
  6. Let it cool for about 5 minutes before turning out of the bowl and slicing.

Notes

  • The shape of the bun will take on the shape of the bowl you cook it in! Be sure to use a ramekin that has a similar size and shape to a hamburger bun. Click here for the ones I use!
  • Microwave time may vary: I recommend sticking a toothpick into the center to ensure its all the way done!
  • I like to throw in some extra seasonings sometimes to take it up a notch. You can get creative with this one!
