As a graduate student working towards a career as a Food Scientist with a focus in Nutrition, my passion for optimizing gut health, love of simple ingredients, and drive to innovate has continued to grow. My goal is to be able to use my love of learning, creativity, and leadership in transforming the food industry to begin focusing on ingredient quality and consumer health.
After learning about the impact that wholesome food has on us through my own personal health struggle of managing a chronic disease, making nutritious food become convenient, fun, and accessible has become incredibly important to me. Hippocrates said it best: “let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”.
I’ve gotten the privilege to witness this first-hand, and I want to share that with as many people as possible!
My approach to a career in Food Science may seem unconventional to most, but I strongly believe that it is only a matter of time before a majority of the American population turns to food as the primary means of medicine to reverse many of the chronic diseases that are so prevalent in our country. I am looking forward to making a positive impact in the food industry by blending my passion for good food, nutrition, and gut health with the skills I’ve built as an avid writer, recipe developer, researcher, and scientist.
